Challenge:
Hillary’s faced significant challenges as their advisors struggled with training, onboarding, and the limited 2D app functionality. The problem extended to inefficiencies and inconsistencies, as the existing tools slowed down processes and failed to provide a unified solution. This not only affected advisor engagement but also hindered the scalability necessary for integrating multiple brands, such as Thomas Sanderson Blinds, under the Hunter Douglas umbrella. A flexible, modern solution was imperative to bring all brands and advisors onto the same platform seamlessly.

Approach:
Engine Creative’s initial assessment identified clear limitations in the 2D visualisation app. We proposed transitioning to 3D standards to allow for greater customisation and flexibility. A discovery phase engaged key stakeholders, gathering insights from business, user, and technology perspectives. Strategies included creating a white-label enabled tool with dynamic customisation via a CMS. Our innovative solution employed our REYDAR image processor and a scalable white-label CMS to integrate with existing business and advisor applications.

The system enhances accuracy, usability, and customer confidence, solving the industry’s “imagination gap.” This development requires significant technical research to create scalable, high-performance solutions, ultimately modernising Hillarys’ digital offering and improving sales conversions.

The Output:

Our solution has transformed how Hillarys’ advisors and customers experience their product range. Through an advisor app for Android, customers can explore a huge range of products and use the visualisation features to configure and bring them to life.

By providing a web-based configurator, we have also expanded access across platforms and provided a white-label solution that can be used across Hunter Douglas Group brands and products.

Our approach has already led to significant uplifts in key metrics for Hillarys in terms of increased engagement, with feedback from both advisors and users helping to drastically improve validating the effectiveness of our solution.

The success of the first phase of the project has led to new features being added to the development roadmap and has positioned the Hillarys configurator app as a market-leading visualisation tool.
