Top Gear test track online interactive
Engine Creative has been working with the creative team at Top Gear for many years and has helped them to realise many an automotive vision for use as online content and in their hugely successful magazine.
Using all of our 2D illustration, 3D visualisation and image creation skills we have created everything from an airbrushed illustration of Stig's helmet for the cover of Top Gear magazine to 9 'Men of the Year' illustrations spanning 3 double page spreads.
Image creators extraordinaire
One of our most high profile projects was the step by step 3D reconstruction of Richard Hammond's spectacular crash (above). The 3D illustration was used in the Top Gear magazine and subsequently commandeered for use in Hammond's autobiography. We then took the illustration online with an interactive Flash animation.
Other notable creative collaborations include big shiny letters for an 'Aston Mega-Car' story, a 3D globe visualisation for a piece on 'Motorworld Road Markings', a BMW boat, visualisations of all 17 of the F1 circuits (above) and a 3D rendered animation for Ferrari's 60th Birthday Relay for the Top Gear website.
The mighty 'Kebab of Grip'
For the launch issue of the Top Gear Grand Prix Magazine, BBC wordwide and the Top Gear team asked Engine Creative to create 3 illustrations to help explain the science behind the most exciting and technologically advanced sport in the world - F1. We helped the editorial team explain the new technical regulations and innovations such as how the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) works, how downforce works and the mighty 'Kebab of Grip'.
Top Gear magazine can be found in all good retailers and on the magazine rack at Engine Creative... feel free to come in and browse or visit the Top Gear website.
