It’s the middle of June which can only mean one thing; pack up your wellies, tent, sleeping bag and rain mac because festival season is upon us!
We’re doing our bit here at Engine HQ by teaming up with Ministry of Sound again to create the artwork for The Clubbers Guide to Festivals 2012. The 3 CD compilation is the latest offering to officially mark the beginning of the summer dance season and will be released on the 25th June.
Although festival giant Glastonbury takes a rest in 2012 there are plenty more festivals that have managed to achieve iconic status amongst UK music lovers taking place this summer including the Isle of Wight Festival, T in the Park, Reading and Leeds Festival along with dance festivals Creamfields and Global Gathering that are proving to be essential summer events for the growing target audience.
Having collaborated with Ministry of Sound for nearly a decade we are all too aware of the changes that have occurred within the music industry, including the shift to the prominence of live music events in recent years. As a creative agency we have also been following the growing impact of technology at festivals including the use of on-stage holograms to resurrect deceased music stars for a once in a lifetime performance, and the impact that the smartphone has on modern festivals with 66% of consumers now taking images solely on their mobile devices, along with 32% sending Facebook updates or Tweets from the event.
So, bring on the festival season and all the fun that the British weather brings with it! To download or buy a copy of The Clubbers Guide to Festivals 2012, go to the Ministry of Sound website now.
