Here at Engine Creative we have continued our support of the creative industries in the region by working with the Northampton Arts Collective to help them launch NN – a contemporary art space based in the centre of Northampton.
Located in the cultural hub of Northampton with the award-winning Royal & Derngate theatre and Northampton Museum as close neighbours, the new NN gallery occupies Number Nine Guildhall Road, a stunning four storey building that the organisation is renovating to house a ground floor and courtyard of artist’s work, a first floor cafe, a second floor artist and office space and a planned third floor to accommodate screenings and project space to be opened later next year.
Artistic Director, Catherine Hemelryk, explains the NN concept:
“NN can stand for the gallery’s location in the county, for the building at Number Nine, for New Neighbours, Neo Neon and so much more. The name is flexible and aims to represent the openness of the organisation to invention and creativity.”
NN opens its doors later this year with a fantastic programme of events including a ‘House Warming Weekend’ of which details will be released soon.
