This week, Engine’s digital team had the pleasure of attending the Future of Web Design conference in London. For those that don’t already know, the Future of Web Design, or FOWD as it is affectionately known, is one of the premier conferences for web designers and other web professionals in the United Kingdom. We take our hats off to Carsonified for running both an incredibly inspiring show and an extremely smooth operation.
Over the course of two days the conference is split into two tracks, with a mix of speakers ranging from the very well-known to the up-and-coming. The topics range from the latest web practices to business strategy and from icon design to iPhone development. Some of the highlights included detailed HTML 5 talks by Peter Lubbers and Bruce Lawson, some fascinating takes on design by Aarron Walter and Simon Collison, and forward thinking business strategy talks by Paul Boag and Brett Welch.
A recurring theme throughout the conference was the importance of being full-service and providing an excellent and thorough service to clients, something that resonates with us at Engine Creative. The two days have not only been incredibly inspiring, but have also provided many new insights into how to more effectively consult and engage with our clients to produce even better end results. We’re psyched and looking forward to applying all we’ve learned in our upcoming projects.
All in all, we highly recommend a visit to FOWD. Who knows, maybe we’ll see you at FOWD 2011?!
