The shoe collection at Northampton Museums is the largest collection of shoe heritage in the world and is designated as being of international significance. To ensure that this unique resource reaches the widest possible audience The World Footwear Collection guide has been produced as an interactive digital publication and is now available to over 170 million iPad owners across the world.
The app is the most comprehensive digital catalogue of shoe heritage in the world and contains a wealth of stunning imagery. The World Shoes exhibition guide explores how our shoe wearing habits are influenced by geography and climate but also cultural identity, religion and status and will be an invaluable digital resource for designers, students and anyone with an interest in fashion and history.
Engine Creative’s Strategic Director, Andy Wise, explains why the Adobe Digital Publishing Suite (Adobe DPS) was chosen as the technology platform for the project:
“The Adobe DPS platform allows us to create rich and immersive digital publications for a range of clients, from single guides such as the World Shoes app through to monthly publications with complex subscription functions such as the TopGear Magazine app. This flexibility is key in enabling us to work with our clients and their brands to deliver digital publishing solutions that suit their specific needs.”
The World Shoes app is available on the App Store right now.
