Come on, show ‘em what you’re worth
Make ‘em go, oh, oh, oh
As you shoot across the sky
Oh the delights of Katy Perry and on that note, today I’m looking at the joys of Adobe’s Fireworks CS6 and trust me, there are a lot. Whether Fireworks is your usual tool for creating beautiful websites or coherent and well thought out app site plans, Fireworks has it all and is a must-have piece of software for any digital doer.
So, without further ado, I’ll quickly explain my favourite new edition to Fireworks CS6 and its benefit to all digital doers in our industry:
Now this clever little tool allows you to grab the CSS of any extensively creative and complex icon, button or graphical furniture that you make and then pass onto your developers, with little effort. Yes, no word of a lie, no longer will developers have to either cut out images for background replacement or spend hours upon hours attempting (and failing) to recreate your radical gradients with CSS – it is all a part of the programme. Click, copy and play.
On top of being able to copy and paste W3C compliant code, you have an array of options to choose from; Firefox, Opera, Webkit, Internet Explorer and the addition of adding in comments too. Nice, that’s even better. This is great but what happens when the beautiful lines of code end up not working in, let’s say, IE6? Well… I haven’t actually worked that bit out, however I guess, as long as you know this sneaky little feature is for modern browsers only then you’re all set and ready to embark on an adventure of a life time (your virtual life, not your real one).
How good is that?!
So, what’s the reference to Katy Perry? It’s ’cause baby, you’re a firework!
