Imagine our surprise when, on the very day we had our meeting to discuss new design concepts with Hunts County, we stumbled across an article in Creative Review with the design we created for Hunts County back in 2005. 5 years on and we're back on the case looking to redefine and update the Hunts County brand for 2010 and beyond.

Hi all, my name is Rob Redman and I've just joined Engine Creative as Senior 3D Guru, a title I'll be working hard to live up to. Engine Creative is starting to push the boundaries with 3D and it's my job to push even harder and further, something I'm really excited about.

I've spent the last 15 years as a 2D & 3D designer and photographer at first within existing studios and then as a freelancer. I write a regular column for the international magazine 3D Artist, helping newcomers get to grips with 3D techniques and tools, as well as running a website, with a collection of video tutorials and an active community.

We are delighted to announce that Maxon, makers of the world leading 3D modelling and animation software Cinema 4D, have chosen not one but three of our 3D animation and motion graphics projects for inclusion in the Cinema 4D 2010 NAB demo reel.

Used to show off the latest cutting-edge 3D and motion graphics projects and to showcase the capabilities of Cinema 4D 11.5, the demo reel was used as a backdrop to the Maxon booth at the recent NAB show in Las Vegas and featuring work for Cartoon Network, ESPN, NBC and MTV as well as our work for the Ministry of Sound, Kaplan and Toyo Tires.

You can see all three included projects in their entirety by clicking here.

This R&D test render of a Lego animation was created in Cinema 4D using the Mograph volume effector. It's a powerful tool within Cinema 4D that allows you to more accurately control where you want your clones to appear (amongst other things). This effector defines its range of influence based on spatial polygonal objects. All clones that lie within a given objects volume will be influenced by this effector.

We are currently doing a number of projects involving the use of Cinema 4D, our favourite 3D imaging and animation software. One of the great things about the software is the active user community and the large number of plug-ins available.

One of my recent new favourites is Xbreaker. This plugin enables you to fracture objects. The developers of Xbreaker, Pariah Studios set up a little contest to encourage people to experiment with the software.

Engine Creative has just completed the second 3D animation and motion graphics piece for phase two of the Toyo Tires European advertising campaign. Based on the extreme testing machines we designed for the 'Engineered to perfection' campaign, the animation follows the R1-R tyre though the testing process and brings the print campaign to life.
