Past, Present, Future

After growing up together in deepest rural Northamptonshire and studying Graphic Design at Nene College, Matt Key and Phil Christer founded Engine in their flat in 1997. Matt and Phil decided upon the name Engine - creativity being the fuel that delivers high impact results and Engine being the, erm, well, engine.

Engine's philosophy has continued to be to avoid mediocrity and fluffiness and this uncompromising creative approach has led to steady growth over the years, including a move to our current home in 1999, a converted chapel. Our very own tardis is a key member of the team and we are proud of the relaxed but highly productive environment that hasbeen created through an investment in the right people and the latest technology.

In 2005 Glyn Allen became our third director, bringing with him a strong client base and significant expertise in video production and event management. An HD broadcast ready production suite soon followed and Engine are now focussed on creating and developing brands across a wide range of media channels and an ever expanding diversity of industry sectors, from Automotive and Music to Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Education.

As for the future? We will continue to be driven by our creative urges, continue to explore new technologies and continue to surprise our clients with high impact and thought provoking work.
